Dr. Kate Walsh-Soucheray loves two things: her family and to study. Kate has been married to her husband John for 39 years and they have three adult, married children, five wonderful grandchildren, and three, lively grand-dogs. She was a teacher for twenty years in the Archdiocesan Catholic schools of St. Paul and Minneapolis where she taught social studies and religion. She has been a licensed marriage and family therapist for the past ten years and is now emeritus status. Dr. Kate has a master’s degree in theology, a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, and a doctorate in educational leadership. Dr. Kate retired in May and speaks and writes for Catholics. She is completing a book to help Catholic women develop greater holiness in their homes.
Listening and responding to God requires that we learn to listen and desire obedience to His voice. We may not be thrilled about what He is asking of us, yet if we are obedient, we will see that His invitation is perfect. He has taken the first step and offered us His grace, helping us respond positively to a deep desire to develop a relationship with Him. He has also offered us His courage to respond to Him and to follow what we hear in our hearts, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
