Many parents feel unqualified to homeschool, and private school was not in the budget. Parents will remember that whether we homeschool or send children to school, we are still the primary educators.

Your mother really took a leap of faith in homeschooling her children. It is very understandable in this day and age and even back in the eighties. I have 3 daughters that went to parochial grade and high school. One has left her faith, one steps her toe into the water now and then, and the third hasn’t left, but doesn’t practice it. As their mother, I feel I have failed them as a Catholic. Just because we chose to send our daughters to catholic school, didn’t guarantee they would continue to practice their faith. I have had a rebirth of my faith, and hope it rubs off on them, otherwise, they will never feel the love that I do from God. Thank you for sharing your mother’s story. God Bless! – Monica
Love this. Thank you! I felt like you were speaking to me, I have just recently decided to homeschool my youngest next year and my #1 fear is failing her. Thank you for this pep talk! – Angie
